What is advanced tajweed?
Tajweed has two levels. The first is knowing enough to read correctly. The advanced level is mastering the fine detail: the exact duration of each madd counted in harakaat, the precise characteristics (sifaat) that distinguish similar letters, and the subtle timing of ghunnah and qalqalah.
This course treats recitation as a discipline. Your teacher works on consistency, tone, breath control and the rules of pausing (waqf) at the level expected of a strong reciter, and prepares serious students for the path toward an ijazah in recitation.

What the advanced course covers
A structured, rule by rule deepening of everything that makes recitation precise.
Sifaat al-huroof
The permanent and conditional characteristics of every letter (such as isti'la, safeer, qalqalah, leen) and how they separate letters that sound similar.
Madd in depth
All types of elongation: madd asli, and the secondary madd (muttasil, munfasil, laazim, aaridh), each with its exact count in harakaat.
Rules and waqf
Idgham (with and without ghunnah), ikhfa, iqlab, izhar, the rules of raa and laam, and detailed waqf and ibtida for meaning preserving recitation.

Why learn with Al-Ilm
At the advanced level, progress depends entirely on precise, immediate feedback from a trained ear. A recording or app cannot tell you that your madd was five harakaat instead of four; a live teacher can, every single time.
- Teachers trained in detailed tajweed and, where applicable, holding ijazah
- Live one to one classes, the only way to refine recitation properly
- Female teachers available for sisters and ladies

Advanced Tajweed: frequently asked questions
Who should take the advanced tajweed course?
Anyone who already reads the Quran fluently and wants to perfect their recitation, including hifz students, aspiring teachers, imams and serious learners.
Do I need to have finished a basic tajweed course first?
You should be able to read the Quran fluently with basic tajweed. In the free trial the teacher confirms you are ready for the advanced level.
Does this course prepare me for an ijazah?
It builds the precision an ijazah requires. Earning an ijazah is a separate, longer process of reciting the whole Quran to a certified teacher, and we can guide serious students toward it.
What makes recitation advanced rather than basic?
Detail and consistency: exact madd counts, the full system of sifaat, exception aware application of rules, and control of tone, breath and pace throughout.
Can I take this for a specific weak area?
Yes. One to one classes can focus on the exact rules you struggle with, such as madd, ghunnah or the rules of raa, rather than repeating what you already know.
Is a female teacher available?
Yes, qualified female teachers are available on request.
