The Noorani Qaida is the traditional starting course for anyone who wants to read the Quran in Arabic. Whether the student is a young child, a busy adult beginner, or a new Muslim reading Arabic letters for the very first time, this course builds the reading accuracy that every later course, Tajweed, Nazra and Hifz, depends on. If you have been searching for online Qaida classes, Noorani Qaida classes for kids, or a way to learn Quran reading from the basics, this is the structured foundation behind that search.

What is Noorani Qaida?
Noorani Qaida is a foundational primer used across the Muslim world to teach the Arabic alphabet, the correct point of articulation for each letter (makharij), and the basic rules of Quran reading before a student opens the Quran itself. It is the modern, widely used successor to the older Qaida Baghdadi, and it is the traditional first step for every new reader.
Because reading the Quran correctly depends on pronouncing each letter from its proper place, the Qaida stage is where accuracy is built. A letter learned wrongly here is far harder to correct later inside Tajweed or memorization, so this first course is the most important one to get right.

The 17 Noorani Qaida Lessons, Step by Step
Al-Ilm follows the traditional 17 lesson Noorani Qaida sequence. Each lesson builds directly on the one before it, so your teacher moves at the pace your reading actually supports, not a fixed calendar.
Lessons 1 to 4
The Arabic alphabet: individual letters, their shapes, joined (compound) letters, and how a letter changes form at the start, middle and end of a word.
Lessons 5 to 9
Short vowels (harakat: fatha, kasra, damma), tanween (double vowels), and standing or vertical harakat, so letters begin to form real sounds and syllables.
Lessons 10 to 17
Long vowels and elongation (madd, leen), sukoon (jazm), shaddah (tashdeed), and the noon sakinah and meem sakinah rules that lead straight into Tajweed and fluent reading.

Noorani Qaida taught well the first time saves real time later. Students who rush through with an inconsistent teacher often carry mispronounced letters into Tajweed, where they are harder to unlearn than to get right from the start. Our teachers will not move a student ahead until each letter and rule is genuinely secure.
- Qualified male and female teachers, so daughters and sisters can request a female teacher

Noorani Qaida: frequently asked questions
Do I need to know Arabic before starting Noorani Qaida?
No. Noorani Qaida is designed for complete beginners with no prior Arabic. It starts with the alphabet itself, so you or your child begin from the very first letter.
What age can a child start Noorani Qaida?
Most children can begin around age 4 or 5, once they can sit for a short lesson and repeat sounds. Younger children start with shorter, more interactive sessions, and the teacher sets the pace.
How long does Noorani Qaida take to complete?
It varies by age, consistency and the number of classes per week. With steady lessons most students complete the Qaida within a few months, and correctly taught lessons usually move faster than self study because early mistakes never become habits.
What is the difference between Noorani Qaida and Iqra or Qaida Baghdadi?
They all aim to teach Quran reading from the basics. Noorani Qaida is the most widely used modern primer and, taught live and one to one, mispronunciations are corrected the moment they happen rather than practiced repeatedly as can occur with an app or self study book.
What comes after Noorani Qaida?
Once the Qaida is secure, students move on to Nazra (fluent Quran reading), then Tajweed rules, and later Hifz if they wish to memorize. The accuracy built in the Qaida is what every one of those courses relies on.
Can adults learn Noorani Qaida online, or is it only for children?
Adults are very welcome. Many of our students are adults and new Muslims reading Arabic for the first time. The one to one format means the lesson is built entirely around you, at whatever pace feels comfortable.
Is there a female teacher for my daughter?
Yes. Qualified female teachers are available on request, so daughters, sisters and ladies can learn comfortably from home.
